What 'Research Use Only' Actually Means

The RUO constraint in plain language, and why we publish rigorous lab data anyway.

Research Use Only, plainly

Research Use Only (RUO) means these materials are sold for laboratory and research use. They are not drugs, foods, cosmetics, or medical devices; they are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease; and they are not for human or animal consumption.

This is not marketing fine print. It is the constraint that governs every page: no product description, review, calculator, or guarantee on this site implies human-use efficacy or dosing guidance.

Why publish COAs if it's research-only?

Because purity and identity are legitimate research concerns independent of any use claim. A researcher needs to know exactly what a vial contains. That's why the trust infrastructure (COAs, mass-spec identity, endotoxin data) is rigorous while the efficacy claims stay at zero.
